Theodore Roosevelt upon the death of William McKinley became the youngest president in the history of the United States. Roosevelt's Presidency helped expand the power of the presidency. President Roosevelt pushed the U.S. into world affairs. He negotiated the end of the Russo-Japanese War and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his effort. Roosevelt was known as a "trust buster" for breaking up some of businesses' largest monopolies.

Roosevelt is known for building the Panama Canal, sailing the "Great White Fleet" around the world, and mediating disputes between big business and the common man.
What if Teddy Roosevelt never became president? If President William McKinley wasn't assassinated and Vice President Garrett A. Hobart didn't die in office, who would have risen to power? Would the United States have become increasingly interested in foreign affairs? Would the country have developed the way it did? Our quest will examine the 1904 Presidential Election if McKinley and Hobart had lived. Who would have won? Who would have led our country for the next 4 years?
